Lithuanian incumbent telco TEO LT has posted its consolidated fiscal results for the six months ended 30 June 2009, reporting a 0.8% fall in revenue year-on-year to LTL409 million (USD168.7 million). The group’s earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 1.7% compared with the first six months of 2008 to LTL190 million, due to retained revenue level and efficiency of operations. Profit in the first half of 2009 amounted to LTL92 million, up 2.9% year-on-year.
Meanwhile, TEO’s broadband customer base rose by 5,700 during the first six months of 2009 to reach 303,800, while the total number of fixed telephony lines in service reached 742,600 at 30 June 2009, down from 767,805 six months earlier. The company’s IPTV subscribers increased by 7,600 in the period, bringing the total to 47,900, while DVB-T customers rose by 11,500 to reach 37,900.
