German cable operator PrimaCom has announced plans to invest EUR4.5 million (USD6.4 million) in the expansion of its network in the towns of Bitterfeld-Wolfen and Sandersdorf in the federal state of Saxony-Anhalt. The network expansion will enable 20,000 households to access the Leipzig-based cableco’s triple-play services, with 3,500 households in Bitterfeld-Wolfen to be connected by end-2009. Work on the network has already begun and is scheduled for completion by the end of 2010. At present around 160,000 households in Saxony-Anhalt are connected to PrimaCom’s cable network.
