TTSL completes ‘southern’ GSM rollout

Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has announced the launch of GSM-based services in the Andra Pradesh circle, which it says completes its rollout in the southern part of the country. Initially the network in Andhra Pradesh will cover 612 towns and cities and 1,149 villages, as well as 1,530km of highways and airports, 1,570km of railways, as well as tourist areas. Offered under the Tata DoCoMo banner, TTSL’s GSM-based services are now available in Tamil Nadu, Calcutta, Orissa and Karanataka, as well as the latest region of launch. The mobile operator said it has completed the rollout in just three weeks and has reiterated that it expects to complete its pan-India network by the end of 2009.
