Eurocom limited in access to Partner information

14 Jul 2009

According to Globes Online, the Eurocom Group, which is bidding to acquire Hutchison Telecommunications International Ltd’s (HTIL’s) stake in Israeli cellco Partner Communications, may not be allowed access to certain information about its potential purchase. It is understood that, as Eurocom already controls internet service provider Internet Gold and international call carrier 012 Smile.Communications, the company will not have access to information about Partner’s mooted entry into the fixed line and internet sectors. Additionally, it is likely that Eurocom will have restricted access to information related to Partner’s content and television broadcasting plans, due to the former’s 32% stake in satellite TV broadcaster YES.
