Slovenia’s Post and Electronic Communications Agency (APEK) has released a tender for new universal telecoms services providers, to take responsibility for connecting users to the PSTN anywhere in the country, management of telephone services including public payphones, providing IT support to users and tailoring services to cater for disabled users. Telekom Slovenije is currently the sole universal service provider for the entire country but with the incumbent’s tenure due to expire soon, APEK has opened up the tender to nationwide and regional applicants.
