Vodafone Germany has announced the launch of a wireless broadband internet pilot project in the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg. A total of 100 test homes in the areas of Bopfingen and Unterschneidheim have been provided with high speed internet at speeds of up to 7Mbps through the trial, which uses the digital dividend spectrum freed up from the digital TV switchover. The pilot project will run until May 2010 and will examine the technical range of the wireless internet technology, as well as possible interferences with DVB-T and cable TV services.
