DT on track for full year – CFO

1 Jul 2009

In an interview with German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung the CFO of German telecoms giant Deutsche Telekom (DT), Timotheus Hoettges, has said the company is on track to reach full year targets for operating profit and free cash flow. He did add however, that due to difficult foreign business, high investments in the US and restructuring of the group’s UK unit, earnings will not improve until the second half and that no miracles should be expected for second quarter figures. According to the report, the CFO said that T-Mobile UK’s main goal is to improve the operating result, which primarily can be expected in the third and fourth quarters, without commenting on the rumoured possible sale of its UK operations.
