AzTelekom rolls out NGN in Ganja

Azeri telecoms company AzTelekom and the country’s Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), which operates the telco on behalf of the state, have begun the introduction of a next generation network (NGN) in Ganja, writes Azerbaijan Business Center. As well as providing high quality voice and data services, the new network will enable customers to subscribe to new services such as IPTV, video calling and IP telephony. According to the report, head of the telecoms department of Ganja, Ali Huseynov, said Chinese equipment vendor Huawei won the tender to deploy the network, though no financial details have been disclosed.
