Angola and Russia sign satellite contract

Angola and Russia on Friday signed a contract worth USD328 million for the building, launching and operation of the AngoSat satellite, reports press agency ANGOP. With production time estimated at 39 months and an operating lifetime of 15 years, AngoSat will support the country’s telecoms infrastructure as well as provide digital television services. The contract was signed by Angola’s deputy minister of telecoms and IT, Aristides Safeca, and by a representative of Russian firm Rosoboronexport.
