Kabel BW to offer 100Mbps from 1 July

German cable operator Kabel BW has announced it will launch broadband internet with download speeds of up to 100Mbps in the regions of Rhein-Neckar, Karlsruhe und Baden-Baden next month. From 1 July, customers in the cities of Mannheim and Heidelberg, as well as a number of towns including Laudenbach, Waldbrunn, Neckargemund, Sinsheim, Hockenheim, Bruhl and Schwetzinger will benefit from the cableco’s fastest broadband speeds to date. By mid-2010 Kabel BW hopes to provide coverage of 100Mbps broadband to 3.5 million households across its entire cable network in the federal state of Baden-Wurttemberg. The cableco has implemented the DOSCIS 3.0 standard in order to raise its maximum internet download speeds to 100Mbps.
