Armenian mobile operator VivaCell-MTS, backed by Russian powerhouse Mobile TeleSystems (MTS), has backed up the launch of commercial 3G services by announcing a new 3G roaming service covering 16 operators’ networks in 14 countries, including Bulgaria, Egypt, Estonia, France, Hong Kong, Island, Macedonia, Poland, Puerto Rico, Russia, Spain , Tanzania, Columbia and Sweden. In a press release the cellco said it would keep expanding voice roaming services, as well as data roaming based on GPRS/EDGE and 3G technologies, in more countries by attracting new overseas partners.
