No offers once again for state fund’s shares in Telekom

22 Jun 2009

Slovenian government-run fund Kapitalska Druzba (KAD) has received no bids in public tender for a 1.49% stake in Telekom Slovenije it announced earlier this month, reports Finance.si. KAD, which owns a 7.36% stake in the former monopoly telco according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, is attempting to sell stakes in a range of companies on behalf of its pension fund, PPS, which has a July deadline to adjust its portfolio under law. KAD General Manager Borut Jamnik claims that there are ‘several’ different case scenarios for the shares in Telekom. CommsUpdate previously reported that in December 2008 fellow state-run fund Slovenije Odskodninska Druzba (SOD) failed to sell a 10% stake in Telekom Slovenije; the public tender did not attract a single bid, despite previous interest from companies including Magyar Telekom of Hungary.
