TTSL to deploy India's fastest broadband service

18 Jun 2009

Tata Teleservices (TTSL) has signed a contract worth USD70 million with ECI Telecom enabling the operator to offer fixed broadband services at downlink speeds of up to 18Mbps. The current fastest broadband network in India is that of Airtel, which launched a 16Mbps service in April. TTSL has already deployed an all-IP next generation network (NGN) in eight cities and will now expand it nationwide. The infrastructure will allow the company to offer IPTV, video on demand (VOD), high speed internet access and VoIP.
