Etisalat wins WAN services deal

18 Jun 2009

United Arab Emirates-based telecoms operator Etisalat has announced that Citibank has selected the operator’s Managed WAN service to optimise network connectivity across its entire UAE operations to cover its head office, branches and financial centres. Etisalat will replace the bank’s existing legacy network on leased line with an IP-VPN solution, as well as provide connectivity solutions, routers and onsite support. ‘Our Managed WAN service is an ideal solution for companies looking to reduce their total cost of ownership by outsourcing to an external service provider who will manage their complex network infrastructure,’ said Abdulla Hashim, vice-president of Etisalat’s Business Solutions division, adding, ‘The service will give Citibank access to the latest technologies and management expertise without requiring high initial capital expenditures or ongoing investments in technology upgrades.’
