15 Jun 2009

Singapore Telecom (SingTel), Southeast Asia’s largest telecoms group by subscribers, yesterday launched a new service that allows mobile subscribers to download music files and videos directly to their handsets. According to Reuters the telco hopes to expand coverage of the service to other parts of Asia in due course. The mobile download service has been developed with Universal Music and SingTel hopes the new web-based facility, AMPed, which works on its 3G network supporting Nokia, Samsung, LG and Sony Ericsson handsets, will help it attract new customers as well as get existing subscribers to upgrade service plans.
