Israeli fixed line and broadband incumbent Bezeq has opened access to its in-deployment nationwide IP-based next generation network, Reuters reports. The telco has revealed that approximately 100,000 of its existing subscribers have been connected to the new infrastructure, which offers high speed internet at speeds of up to 15Mbps. The network deployment is continuing across the country, although Bezeq has not revealed a timeline for when the rollout is expected to be complete. When finished its is expected, however, that speeds on the network will increase to up to 50Mbps. Bezeq has also announced that those customers who already have its xDSL-based broadband services running at speeds of 5Mbps or 8Mbps will be automatically upgraded to higher speeds without any extra cost.
