Asiacell selects Globitel for USDD Gateway, roaming platform

4 Jun 2009

Telecoms solutions provider Globitel has supplied Iraq’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers, Asiacell, with its Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USDD) Gateway. The solution will enable Asiacell to provide its wireless subscribers with value added services such as callback facilities, balance inquiry, pre-paid account refill, stock quotes and interactive games. The vendor will also provide a variety of roaming solutions, aimed at reducing churn, boosting revenues and improving the quality of service to inbound and outbound roamers. The cellco’s senior marketing manager, Mohammad Serieh, commented on the partnership: ‘As we expand our network’s capabilities to provide our clientele with an unmatched mobile communication experience, we are constantly in search for solutions that cater to an operator’s most important service categories: value added and roaming services. After a careful selection process, Globitel clearly emerged as the single best provider of those solutions in the region, with the experience of countless other operators as a testament to this conclusion.’
