26 May 2009

French mobile operators Orange France, SFR and Bouygues Telecom plan to participate in a series of m-payment trials in Nice in partnership with urban transit provider Veolia Transport and a number of banks. The pilot trials are expected to begin in the spring of 2010 and will most likely involve up to 1,000 subscribers on each network using handsets enabled with Near-Field-Communication (NFC) technology to pay for services including travel tickets.
