SmarTone-Vodafone launches home fixed phone and broadband package

In a press release, Hong Kong-based mobile operator SmarTone-Vodafone has announced the launch of its Home Broadband & Phone service. Delivered over its 3.5G HSPA cellular network, the new service costs HKD148 per month for a residential broadband connection with maximum capability of 7.2Mbps/2Mbps (down/upstream) and a fixed line telephone number with inclusive value added services (VAS, caller display, call forwarding, call waiting, call conference). The package includes rental of a wireless gateway, with Wi-Fi access and points for up to four LAN cable connections. Customers may plug existing analogue home telephones into the wireless gateway, and the service supports number portability.
