Incumbent cellcos report 120,000 drop in subscribers in April

Hungary’s three incumbent mobile operators – T-Mobile, Pannon and Vodafone – collectively reported a 120,930 drop in subscribers last month, trimming the country’s total base to around 11.99 million, the regulator NHH reports. By the end of April, market leader T-Mobile’s share of the pie had fallen to 43.97%, down from 44.15% the previous month, while number two operator Pannon upped its share from 34.70% to 34.86% and Vodafone edged up from 21.15% to 21.17%. The watchdog noted that active mobile subscriptions stood at 10.69 million as at 30 April, compared to 10.80 million a month earlier. Hungary’s cellular penetration rate was 119.6% at 30 April according to NHH estimates, down from 120.8% in March.
