Harris Stratex Networks has announced it has been chosen by Georgian cellco MagtiCom to expand the operator’s wireless network infrastructure. The vendor will deploy its Eclipse advanced nodal wireless networking platform to provide end-to-end backhaul of MagtiCom’s TDM and Ethernet traffic. ‘Choosing the Eclipse platform was a logical process for us, considering our long-term relationship with Harris Stratex Networks,’ said David Lee, chief executive officer of MagtiCom. ‘While we restructure our growing network to roll out 2G, 3G, CDMA and WiMAX services for our 1.8 million subscribers, the high product flexibility and quality, and the excellent support that Harris Stratex provides, will be key.’ The platform also supports next generation IP-based services.
