Telecoms Korea is reporting that the LG Group expects to have signed up 14 million subscribers across its three subsidiaries – LG Telecom, LG Dacom and LG Powercom – by the end of 2009. The parent company has said it will actively look to offer a wider range of products and services in a bid to hit its target. It is understood that at LG Telecom the focus will be placed on the rollout of additional base stations to improve the quality of voice calls, while the launch of new services include an upgraded location based service offering free information. LG Dacom will continue to target the IPTV and VoIP markets in a bid to reach three million customers by the end of the year, having recently expanded full-scale IPTV services to those not living in apartment complexes.
