According to AllAfrica.com, Rwanda’s second national operator (SNO) Rwandatel has inked a deal with Cisco Systems and African technology solutions firm Seven Seas Technologies allowing the telco to access their unified communications products. ‘The partnership with these two companies will give us an opportunity to deliver better services to our customers such as high speed internet, reliable network coverage and high speed data,’ said CEO of Rwandatel, Patrick Kariningufu. The deal will also provide the operator with special consultancy services to expand its network architecture and performance, allowing the company to increase its presence in the corporate network and voice communications sector. Rwandatel is owned by Libyan government investment vehicle LAP Green Networks (80%) and the Social Security Fund of Rwanda (20%).
