British triple-play provider BSkyB has released financial results for the nine months ended 31 March 2009, revealing an 8% increase in revenues to GBP3.996 billion (USD5.92 billion). Revenue from the operators Sky Broadband and Sky Talk services contributed GBP265 million. Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) were GBP833 million, up 21.8% year-on-year from GBP684 million, while operating profit rose 23.4% to GBP622 million.
The operator ended March 2009 with a total of 2.085 million broadband subscribers and 1.695 million fixed line voice customers (of which 673,000 took line rental). It also noted that 15% of its customer base had signed up to its triple-play packages, up from 9% a year earlier.
