I-NetLink and Redline roll out WiMAX across prairies

30 Apr 2009

I-NetLink Wireless, a Manitoba-based wireless communications company, has chosen Redline’s RedMAX products for its WiMAX network rollout across 150 communities in rural Manitoba. I-NetLink will deploy RedMAX equipment to provide broadband internet access and feature-rich communications to its residential, SOHO, small enterprise and other rural-based customers. According to a press release, the RedMAX network, which will be the largest WiMAX network in the province, will also allow I-Netlink to expand its reach to areas where high capacity services were previously unavailable due to lack of fibre infrastructure and/or limited interest from larger carriers. The WiMAX network will be deployed using I-NetLink’s 3.5GHz licensed spectrum and will extend its current infrastructure of 135 privately owned and operated towers, making it the second largest telecoms provider in the province, behind MTS Allstream. I-NetLink currently provides services to over 150 Manitoban communities, with plans to expand to 50 more by end-2009.
