VTC to become Vietnam’s first MVNO?

According to VietNamNet Bridge, the Ministry of Information and Communications (MIC) has approved state-run Vietnam Multimedia Corporation’s (VTC) application to set up a wireless network and provide mobile services. Under the proposals, the newly established telecoms company will share wireless frequency bands and infrastructure facilities with one of the existing mobile service providers in the country, namely MobiFone, VinaPhone, Viettel, S-Fone, EVN Telecom, Vietnam Mobile and Gtel Mobile. VTC currently operates a number of multimedia related services in the country and is a licensed WiMAX operator.
