Swisscom has said it is on track to meet its full year financial goals, although the economic crisis will impact its first quarter results. ‘It is clear that (conditions) will leave some marks on us, too,’ Swisscom CFO Ueli Dietiker told Reuters, adding that the company would not hit the brakes on investment unless conditions hit its business very harshly and clearly. ‘We want to avoid at all costs putting long-term projects in question because of short-term performance,’ Dietiker said.
Swisscom said in March it expected net revenue for 2009 to fall by up to CHF300 million (USD256.4 million) to between CHF9.2 billion and CHF9.3 billion, excluding its Italian ISP Fastweb. Fastweb is expected to report revenue of around EUR1.8 billion (USD2.32 billion), up from EUR1.708 billion in 2008.
