The government of Macedonia plans to publish details of a revised tender offer for a new fixed telephony services provider in the country. It is understood the tender documents could be unveiled as early as the end of this week or next week. The state annulled the previous tender around two weeks ago, in the process scuppering domestic cellco Cosmofon’s ambitions of entering the fixed line sector. The mobile operator was widely tipped to win the tender having submitted the bid offering the lowest price for calls. However, the tender was called off after it emerged that Cosmofon’s bid may have broken some terms and conditions of the tender.
