NTT Com unveils flat-rate MVNO offer

NTT Communications Corporation (NTT Com), a unit of Nippon Telegraph & Telephone Corp (NTT), has launched a flat-rate tariff plan offering secure mobile broadband internet access via NTT DoCoMo’s HSDPA network to NTT Com-provided virtual private networks (VPNs). The so-called ‘Mobile/Remote Access DOCOMO Model’ promises improved connectivity through wireless routers, and is also compatible with telemetering systems for machine-to-machine data transmission. NTT Com is launching with two flat-rate plans – Mobile Flat Plan (d) and "Mobile W Flat Plan (d) – launched today and due in September 2009 respectively. Mobile Flat Plan (d) costs JPY4,980 (USD49.60) per month, while Mobile W Flat Plan (d) is set to cost between JPY2,480 and JPY5,630 dependent upon the level of use.
