Centennial reports on fiscal 3Q

US and Puerto Rican telco Centennial Communications has reported fiscal third-quarter consolidated revenue of USD262.7 million, which included USD147.1 million from US wireless operations and USD115.6 million from its Puerto Rico mobile and fixed network businesses. The Puerto Rico wireless division finished February 2009 with 430,700 subscribers, up from 423,600 a year earlier, while the unit’s switched access lines totalled approximately 103,700 at the end of the quarter, a 13% increase from end-February 2008, and ‘dedicated access line equivalents’ rose 24% year-on-year to 579,600. On 24 February Centennial announced that its stockholders had approved the company’s takeover by US giant AT&T, and it expects the merger to be completed by the middle of calendar year 2009.
