ZTE grabs Loop Telecom GSM contract

Loop Telecom, which has a licence to offer pan-India mobile services, has signed a contract with China’s ZTE for the supply of end-to-end network equipment and the provision of a comprehensive portfolio of services, Telecom Tiger reports. Confirming the announcement, S Bandopadhay, Loop Telecom’s chief technical officer, said, ‘ZTE has been selected as the supplier for the core GSM network, access and service layer. We selected ZTE because of their capability to deliver innovative, custom-made products and services based on their strong R&D support in GSM domain.’ According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, Loop Telecom is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Loop Mobile (formerly BPL Mobile).
