CSL’s HSPA+ network goes commercial

Hong Kong cellco CSL New World Mobility and its Chinese technology partner ZTE have jointly announced the commercial launch of a newly built HSPA+ mobile broadband network supported by Software Defined Radio (SDR) technology on 30 March. As previously reported in CommsUpdate, on 15 February the all-IP SDR-based network successfully completed testing of QAM64 HSPA+ data transmission with a peak capability of 21Mbps download speed.
