31 Mar 2009

Triple-play cable operator Cox Communications has selected China-based Huawei Technologies to provide CDMA-based equipment for its planned wireless network infrastructure. Cox plans to enter the 3G wireless market in the second half of 2009 and will utilise Huawei’s LTE-ready SingleRAN solution and 3900 Series base stations to connect to customers. Cox spent USD550 million on its wireless licences in August 2008 and is ultimately aiming for a 20% market share.
