StarHub trials 21Mbps HSPA+ service

Singapore’s second largest mobile operator by subscribers, StarHub, has launched pilot trials of a new 21Mbps (peak theoretical) mobile broadband service based on HSPA+ technology. Some 100 selected customers will take part in the public trial as the cellco gears up for commercial launch within the next three months. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, StarHub had 1.765 million subscribers at the end of 2008, a market share of 27.85%, behind market leader SingTel Mobile with 46.42%.
