Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) has announced that it has completed phase two deployment of China Mobile’s TD-SCDMA network. NSN has been working closely with China Mobile subsidiaries Fujian Mobile, Henan Mobile, Jiangxi Mobile and Hainan Mobile to deploy TD-SCDMA network equipment. As an example of the deployments, NSN installed 1,342 base stations for Henan Mobile in the provincial capital city Zhengzhou in just two months, completing its TD-SCDMA network by the end of February and ensuring TD-SCDMA and GSM interoperability by 10 March 2009. With network optimisation and service trials ongoing, Henan Mobile expects to launch commercial video calling, internet browsing, mobile TV, and video-on-demand services in the near future.
