TM announces wholesale access terms for HSBB

17 Mar 2009

Malaysian incumbent Telekom Malaysia has stated that the rollout of its high speed broadband (HSBB) project is on track for wholesale services to be offered by the end of June 2009, The Star Online reports. TM will offer three different wholesale services; HSBB (Transmission), which will provide point-to-point connectivity; HSBB (Access), which provides connectivity to service providers that offer IP-based value added application services; and HSBB (Connection), which offers interconnect call communication between the networks of TM and the service provider. Retail services are expected to be made available by TM by the end of the year. The operator has now made available terms and conditions for access for domestic licensed operators interested in offering the service. TM’s HSBB project director, Ahmad Azhar Yahya, has also said that the company will unveil the pricing structure for the wholesale services next month.
