Unstrung is reporting that USA-based Airspan Networks has inked a WiMAX network deal with the government of La Xunta in Spain, through R Cable, the region’s telecoms service provider. The agreement has seen Airspan deploy two WiMAX networks, one used to connect offices for the municipality across the region, whilst the second will connect several business districts and industrial areas. Airspan has installed more than 400 base stations to create the networks, and will offer downlink speeds of up to 6Mbps.
