Center Telecom announces IPTV launch

The Russian telco Center Telecom says it will launch its first IP television services in Moscow in the second quarter of this year. The firm, which is majority owned by state telecoms holding company Svyazinvest, launched a next generation network (NGN) in the metropolitan Moscow area last week, replacing its analogue exchanges with digital PBX to enable it to deliver higher-quality telephony, broadband internet, IPTV and other services, IPTV News reports. Rival operator Comstar UTS launched IPTV services in Moscow last month.
