According to Moldova’s National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology (ANRCETI), total fixed line revenues fell 5.85% in 2008 to MDL2.208 billion (USD209.9 million). Average revenue per user (ARPU) dropped 9.97% to MDL167.8. The agency attributed the decrease to a fall in volumes of local and long-distance traffic.

In terms of subscribers, the number of fixed line customers in Moldova increased by 3.2% to 1.114 million in 2008, compared with a rise of 6.1% a year earlier.
