Japanese PHS service operator Willcom will launch a MVNO wireless data service targeting personal computer users on 9 March , by piggybacking on NTT DoCoMo’s FOMA network, AsiaPulse reports. Willcom is using PC/laptop data cards supplied by NetIndex to power the service which will be branded under the Willcom banner. At launch, Willcom is offering the new product to corporate customers only, but it intends to broaden availability to individual consumers by the summer. Subscribers to the service will have access to high speed PC data communications with maximum downstream speeds of 7.2Mbps. Prices start at JPY940 (USD9.57) a month.
