South Africa-based cellular group MTN has completed its purchase of Verizon Business South Africa and has renamed the corporate communications provider as MTN Business. The firm, which offers data solutions in South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia and Kenya, has been acquired from US carrier Verizon Communications. A report from MyBroadband quotes Tim Lowry, Managing Director of MTN SA, who said: ‘This acquisition falls in line with our stated objectives of expanding our communications service offerings, particularly to corporate customers, outside of just mobile services.’
