New owner for Skylink?

Russian fixed-line operator Rostelekom has applied for regulatory approval to purchase 100% stock of CDMA operator SkyLink. SkyLink was established in June 2003 as a joint venture between Sistema and RTDC National telecoms group. Last August Sistema applied for regulatory approval to acquire the 50% of SkyLink that it did not already own.

Svyazinvest holds 38% of Rostelekom’s share capital and 50.67% of its voting stock.
