27 Feb 2009

ISP MWEB Namibia has launched a new range of business subscriber packages for premises owners wishing to offer Wi-Fi wireless internet hotspot facilities. MWEB’s Wi-Fi hotspot solutions are aimed at businesses such as hotels, lodges, restaurants and shopping malls. Harry Aucamp, CEO of MWEB Africa, said that the company is ‘excited’ to offer Wi-Fi services in Namibia, and is planning an extensive roll out of the service throughout Africa. According to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database, in November 2008 Telkom South Africa agreed to buy the multi-national operations of MWEB Africa for USD63 million from the Naspers Group.
