Frontier Communications' revenues, profits fall

Frontier Communications, formerly known as Citizens Communications, posted a 42% decline in net income to USD34.3 million in the fourth quarter of 2008, down from USD59 million in the same period a year earlier. Revenue fell 5% to USD547.4 million from USD577.2 million, as the operator lost 42,000 landline subscribers during the quarter. However, the company added 8,500 high-speed internet customers and 7,600 video customers in the same period.
