Vodafone Ireland will enter the fixed line business market next week, says SiliconRepublic.com citing Anne O’Leary, director of business and enterprise at Vodafone, as saying. In an interview with the online news journal O’Leary said the company’s strategy is to become a ‘total telecoms provider’, by building on its presence in the mobile sector to offer an integrated suite of services. The cellco’s initial foray in the enterprise segment sees it launching a product called Vodafone Office which includes the offer of free landline-to-mobile calls to over 2.2 million Vodafone users. Vodafone Office also includes free local and long-distance landline calls, and the choice of 3Mbps or 7.2Mbps DSL broadband. O’Leary estimates that people using the service stand to benefit from cost savings of EUR650 (USD833) per annum.
