ArmenTel rolls out Hi-Line internet service to regions

Armenia’s incumbent telecoms operator ArmenTel (Beeline) has expanded the geographical coverage of its ADSL-based Hi-Line internet service to a number of major regional centres, the company said in a press release. As a result of the expansion a total of 18 cities are now covered: Yerevan, Gyumri, Vanadzor, Gavar, Idjevan, Abovyan, Spitak, Stepanavan, Tashir, Talin, Eghegnadzor, Kapan, Goris, Meghri, Sevan, Noyemberyan, Edjmiatsin and Ashtarak. TeleGeography’s GlobalCommsa database writes that ArmenTel began offering internet-connections based on ADSL technology in 2007. Currently over 12,000 subscribers use the service.
