Vietnam’s Ministry of Information and Communication (MIC) has received seven applications for 3G network licences, according to VietnamNetBridge. Applications were submitted by military-owned Viettel Telecom, MobiFone, Saigon Postel, GTel, and VinaPhone. EVN Telecom and HT Mobile submitted a joint application, and if successful, will share the licence to build and develop a 3G network. The country’s 3G Jury Council will review the applications and grant four licences at the end of April 2009.
