Tele2 inks MVNO deal with T-Mobile

20 Feb 2009

Tele2, the largest mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) in the Netherlands, has announced that it has signed an agreement with T-Mobile for the use of its GSM and W-CDMA networks. ‘We are very pleased with the agreement which gives Tele2 improved margins on an already profitable market. The agreement also allows us to continue to offer high quality products and at the same time ensure our price leading position,’ said Tele2 President and CEO Harri Koponen. The company entered the Dutch market in 2001, and currently provides mobile services over the networks of KPN. It ended 2008 with 458,000 mobile customers, 112,000 fewer than at the start of the year, according to TeleGeography’s GlobalComms database.
