Network Norway inks mobile internet deployment deal with Cisco

Network Norway, the most recent entrant to the Norwegian mobile market, has announced that it has signed an agreement with hardware vendor Cisco for the latter to deploy a mobile internet platform. The platform, which will be based on Cisco’s Internet Protocol Next Generation network architecture, is expected to allow Network Norway to increase its capacity for broadband services, as well as offer customised data services. Commenting on the deal Harald Boyum, head of Value Added Services and Core Networks at Network Norway said, ‘By working with Cisco, we have deployed an intelligent, high-performance platform that will help us respond quickly to customer demand for bandwidth-intensive applications and allow us to deliver services specifically tailored to customer needs.’
