TWC spin-off receives FCC approval

13 Feb 2009

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has approved the separation of Time Warner Cable from parent Time Warner Inc. Time Warner is now waiting for a nod from the Internal Revenue Service to complete the deal. Time Warner first proposed splitting off its 85% interest in the cable unit in May 2008, and the full separation is now expected by the end of the first quarter of 2009.
